Day 24: What is Your Favorite Movie and Why?

Let me tell you – there is nothing better than a bomb psychological thriller.  I mean, absolutely nothing.  No love story can compete. No action film can compete.  No horror story can compete (although its a close runner-up).  I love movies that leave me squinting, head pushed forward toward the screen and cocked to the side in confusion and disbelief.

This movie has been one of my faves for a long time.  My friend Lisa from Rebirth of Lisa has an ongoing movie challenge this week so I’m sure she will love this day’s challenge.  If you love movies, I suggest that you go participate in her challenge – its so fun!  Anyway, one of her challenges asked what our favorite movies were and I forgot to list this one.  I have no idea how!

The reason I love this movie so much is because it has extreme suspense, betrayal, murder, gore, shock factor, and mystery (in fact, the characters are actually on a mission to solve a mystery themselves – that’s what the movie is about).  A group of FBI agents are taken to this remote island for simulation training.  The training exercise is to try and catch an imaginary serial killer who is somewhere on the island.  The island is SUPER rigged up with traps and clues, right?  Well, without spoiling the movie, they soon find out that the traps aren’t imaginary and death is real on this island.  The training becomes a fight for survival.

I think I’ve watched this movie 5 times and each time I forget who the killer is in the end – which is hilarious.  I know its one of two particular people but because the storyline tries to confuse viewers on who the killer is, I always end up forgetting a few days later. How awesome is that? It’s like the first time, every time I watch.  Has anyone seen this??  I think its on Netflix if you want to check it out and tell me what you think.
