Day 4: Discuss Your Views On Religion

Hey nosies!

How have people managed to turn something so beautiful into something so controversial?

The evidence of God’s presence is everywhere. All around me and all within me I feel his existence. I would never want to limit or restrict that truth with trying to determine which denomination is right or wrong.

That’s the reason I hate discussing specifics and details about religion with people.  Timelines, dates, historical facts, the color of his skin…I don’t feel those things are as important as His message or His purpose for us.

People get more caught up in debating history than in following His plan for our lives. That just baffles me.  I don’t want to hear about chronological this and chronological that because I feel it distracts from the purpose of His existence. It distracts from the big picture He has for us.

People want so badly to convince the world that He isn’t real. But you can’t take away the evidence of Him in my life so … Its never worth me debating my faith with anyone.

But…I would love to be a better example for Him. I curse too much, I talk vulgarously, I make horrible decisions , I dont talk to Him enough…yeah. Gotta make some changes! He did too much for me not to.

I agree! I do Not get into debates about God and my relationship with God with no one. People love to say there is no God, so then don’t call for Him when you are in trouble.

    • Girl YES! It amazes me how the people who believe in Him the least, expect the most from Him. I try to remember that sometimes a debate opens the door to an opportunity to raise awareness though. But I’m not as strong in my walk as I should be, so I don’t feel that I’m the best one to start that conversation with people. I don’t set a great example. But yes, I agree with this wholeheartedly. I don’t know how I missed this comment from you either. Sorry for the delayed response.

  2. I really feel like if everybody just minded their own spiritual business, we’d be so much better off… the problem with trying to explain it to other people is that you can’t do that without boxing it in… the subject it too broad and far reaching to fit into anyone’s box! and realistically, if it made perfect logical sense, there would be no cause for faith…

    • I don’t know how I missed this comment either! The problem with minding your own spiritual business though is that the some religions hold you somewhat responsible for the spiritual walk of others. Its interesting!
