Inspired by Original-Dante’s “Clarity“
*
He lived behind the wheel,
DISTURBINGLY
familiar with the rules of the road
Knew them better than anyone
Anxious to break them
To find ways around them,
YES HE WAS
always in a hurry
Fixated on green lights
Speedbump-less streets
Nothing could slow him down
Flashing red lights
Ignored.
Yield signs
Ignored.
His passenger’s fears
Ignored.
For them there would be no
Change of heart
Changed mind.
What was once a “yes”
Now a “no”

yes he is! lol. But I think you had a point in the comments section of your poem – we should all take more caution before we jump into the unknown. I missed your company yesterday…glad to start my morning with you :)
