7:19am ][ i unquit.
Let me start by saying that I am so embarrassed to write this lol. During my absence from journaling, I kind of unquit my job :/ … lol oops.
If this is you right now, please don’t judge me lol. It wasn’t part of the plan, I know. And I was so excited about the possibilities that being free of this job would entail! But by the time it was unexpectedly offered back to me, the anticipated fear and doubt of losing the extra income had already set in. Not to mention, it was re-offered right after payday so I was feeling the burn. So strategic these employers are.
Unfortunately, this is the second time that I’ve reneged on this plan of restarting my life. It happened last year when I threw in the towel, if you remember. Backing out on myself is really disappointing and I’m not proud of this moment at all. But on the bright side (because that’s what blogging is all about lol) someone clearly sees in me what all of these men are blind to!
Seriously though, I haven’t officially accept the offer and I am working fewer shifts to stay employed until I make a decision. I was even offered the option to customize my own schedule to accommodate the need for personal time. How could I turn down that sort of flexibility? One thing is for sure – whatever I chose to do, I WILL be putting myself first this time.

In the end you have to do what you think will be best and what will make you the most happiest. I am sure you’ll make the right decision.

Yes, yes, yes! At this point, I’ve accumulated enough knowledge and desire for accomplishing my goals to just fall back into the same routine. Thank you for believing in my decision making skills lol

Seems like they value you as an employee… that’s a good thing! Since you’re on higher ground here, there’s nothing wrong with accepting it while you figure out your next steps. It isn’t easy to let go of a regular paycheck. Good luck with whatever you decide. 😊

I’m feeling the exact same as you – that its nothing wrong with collecting my paycheck while I figure things out. As long as it doesn’t keep me from pressing forward with reaching my end result. Because that’s what the job has been doing for the longest – keeping me from pursuing my goals. But if I can customize my schedule, I might be able to get the best of both worlds. Thanks for the best wishes and I’ll be sure to keep you posted!

Yay! Such great news! They know a good thing when they see it. :) I hope they offered you raise. LOL

Yay!!! Thank you :D. I got offered a “what is making you want to leave? Let’s see if we can figure out something that will work for you.” That COULD be a raise I suppose! But what I really want is a full time position with them that pays a few thousand more than what I’m making with my current full time job. That way I can just work 1 job!

I would like to write and speak to the kids and youth in high schools. I want to own the hood I’m from. By that I mean real estate. I have few ideas for clothes and fashion. I make jewelry. I got a couple moor things up my sleeve. Being so creative and thoughtful can sometimes be a bad thing. I have so many ideas and I have to learn how to knock them out one at a time.

That sounds AWESOME. I even love how you phrased it: “to own the hood I’m from.” You better do that King! You own real estate – you control access to housing for those that are overlooked and cheated by the banks. You create clothes and fashion – you move the trends of class and confidence. I was always so overwhelmed with the many ideas I had, that I ended up doing nothing. DON’T be like me lol.

LOL! I’m laughing because you said you did nothing but you’ve been writing and inspiring people. Plus you’r e only 31 (I was reading your response to I think kelley’s comment awhile back, that’s how I know). You’re still so young. I’m about to be 31 as well and I know that this is only the beginning. Don’t be down on yourself. From reading your writing you write really well and tell good stories. If you haven’t already you should compile all of your post together and turn it into a book. I am in the process of doing that now. Along with everything you said, you caught my drift of what I aim to do, the book is another part of the plan.

Now THAT just made me feel good lol. I didn’t realize you were pushing 31 lol. When is your birthday? And I never thought about turning my posts into a book or a collection. Hm…

My birthday is the 30th of this month. The 25, Black, and Alive concept hit me when I turned 25. I realized that I beat all of the statistics that they try to impose on us. My goal now is to get the rest of us to do the same. But, yes you should definitely write a book. There are plenty of young people that can learn from your story.

We need a blog party for your birthday! LOL. What does a 31 year old black super-hero do for his birthday? LOL. I want you to check this podcast out too. I know that you would love them. https://negroeswithapodcast.com

I thought it was. Lol. I stated the concept of it because you said you didn’t think I was pushing 31. I figured you thought I was 25. Lol but ok. I’ll check that link out.
